Made it 240 miles, and to within 6 of home before the freshly (and unnoticed until now) mouse-chewed wire harness on the bike gave out. Thank god for friends with pickup trucks....
The following pictures mostly explain what I did between the hours of 9pm and 1am last night :P

yikes, coulda been worse though. Had an employee call me one morning "yeah, not going to be in today, I'm watching my bike burn on the side of the highway", wiring can be a fickle beast

I find that the wiring is rarely as much trouble as the small, furry creatures that like to chew on it :P But yes; no fire, and the ECU is fine, so I'll take the PITA I got as opposed to possible other scenarios...
